ADVANCED KEELBOAT
ASA 102
BUILD UPON YOUR SAILING SKILLS!
Prerequisite: Basic Keelboat 101
Our Advanced Keelboat 102 class is designed for the sailor who is ready to build upon their skills from 101, but not quite ready for the larger boats in Basic Coastal Cruising 103. Note: You do NOT need to take this course to take 103.
After this course you will be able to skipper and crew aboard a sloop-rigged keelboat of approximately 20 to 30 feet in length by day in winds up to 20 knots. Depart, sail, and return with control demonstrating teamwork.
Classes are 9am-5pm with a 1 hour lunchbreak
We sail on 22′ Daysailors
What to Expect:
Once you are registered:
- You will be emailed a confirmation which contains a link to a free online prep class. There is no textbook available yet for the class. You need to complete this online class before day 1!
During your class:
- Day 1 and 2 will be on the water training.
- Day 2 is test day! You will take a skills test on the water as well as a multiple choice written test. Bring your ASA logbook for your instructor to sign.
Once you are certified you will receive:
If you’re a member of The Passport Sailing Club, there is a $50 registration fee. If you complete the class your $50 will be refunded.

WEATHER POLICY:
We sail under all kind of weather conditions. Yes, even rain! Check the weather before you come and dress appropriately. If the Dock Master deems the weather too bad for sailing, instruction and review will continue in the classroom or on the dock until the weather passes.
