Find your way safely!

This course will allow you to:

  • Develop your competency in visual navigation
  • Plot fixes to establish your actual position
  • Plot Dead Reckoning courses to sail
  • Make course corrections based on established fix
  • Take bearings with a handbearing compass
  • Identify and correct for set and drift conditions

Classes are 9am-5pm with a 1 hour lunchbreak

CLASSROOM COURSE

 

    Coastal Navigation Curriculum

    $420 per person | 9am- 5pm every day

     Class dates are not interchangeable.

    2024 Schedule:

    CLASS 1- JAN 13, 20 & 27 CLASS 2– MAR 23, 30 & APR 6
    CLASS 3- JULY 13, 20 & 27

    Example: If you select January 13th, you are signing up for January 20 & 27 as well

    What to expect:

    Once you are registered you will be mailed:

    • ASA’s “Coastal Navigation, Advanced Cruising Techniques” Text Book
    • Practice Chart
    • Exam Review

    During your class:

    • Day 1 and 2 will be classroom training.
    • Day 3 is test day! Bring your ASA logbook for your instructor to sign.

    Once you are certified you will receive:

    • ASA will mail you your certificate and your seal for your logbook (this takes about 2 months)

    CANCELLATION POLICY:

    14 days prior to class we have our teachers and classroom committed. If you reschedule 14 days or less of your scheduled class, the change will be subject to a $100.00 transfer fee. No refunds. Thank you for your understanding!
